Mosaic Journal / Field notes

Behind
the night.

The room, the people and the work before doors open. Practical reading for anyone putting an event together.

Five things to put in an event brief.

A useful first message does not need a finished production plan. Give the team enough context to understand the night you want to build.

  1. The date or window. Share your preferred date, or say where you have flexibility.
  2. The city and the crowd. Tell us where the event will happen and roughly how many people you expect.
  3. The idea. Describe the format, the audience and the atmosphere you have in mind.
  4. The budget and the help. Give a rough budget and list what you need: a venue, production, marketing or show operations. If you are unsure, say so.
  5. A way to reach you. Include your name, email and any useful links or references.

An inquiry does not reserve a date. Venue approval, a signed agreement and a cleared deposit are required to confirm a booking. See the booking FAQ for the next steps.
